#W4WS - I need the Wolf Pack!

Writers4Writers - I need the Wolf Pack!

I'm just one author, a lone wolf, plodding his way across the barren writing landscape. I throw my head back, and yelp a prayer to the heavens.

Tonight, as is all too often, my singular howl is stolen by the wind--an offering to the omnipotent Moon who sees all, yet responds to little. She jealously guards the way to the universe, and has left me unheeded at the gates again.

I'm alone...

I lower my gaze, preparing to trek onward--always onward--when a reply echoes in the distance. My ears perk. My claws instinctively sink into the hard, cold earth preparing to launch me into airless flight.

Could there be another?

Soon, one howl becomes a chorus. The wind yields to OUR voices! The Moon, she yawns in white and yellow radiance, bidding us enter to frolic among the stars! The Wolf Pack has found me. At last we run as one.

Today I'm extremely honored to be a featured author on Writers4Writers. What is W4WS? Here's the skinny:

Our Mission:
• Help writers bring awareness of their book(s) to tens of thousands of new people
• Help writers reach Amazon Top 100 in at least one category (i.e., suspense, free, etc.)
• Increase sales of their book(s) after the promo is over
• Drive new traffic to their blog and increase following
• Create verbal and viral buzz.

How it Works:
The spotlighted author will choose a social media avenue, such as Twitter or Facebook (or both). Then, the good people of Blogdom will promote the author’s book to their Twitter followers or Facebook friends, that is, incredibly large new audiences the author could not reach on their own.

Facebook: The writer posts an image of their book along with a short blurb and a link to Kindle on their blog. Visitors simply click the Facebook page, then share the link with their FB friends. https://www.facebook.com/Writers4Writers

Twitter: The author posts pre-written Tweets on his/her blog. At your convenience, simply copy and paste Tweets into Twitter. Or go to #W4WS on Twitter and Retweet.

So there it is. For the next few days I'm asking the Wolf Pack (my fellow authors, bloggers, and friends) to join in howling my name to the sky in the hopes of helping me find a larger audience--and maybe even the stars. :)

Specifically, I'd like to share news of my latest release, Dark Prelude, Moonsongs Book 3:

Jenny Moonsong recently inherited the title of "monster hunter" and an ancient tribal journal/how-to manual passed down by her Apache ancestors. Unfortunately, a lot of on-the-job training is required to be a monster hunter, and unlike her computer repair business, this gig could literally kill her.

Dark Prelude finds the feisty protagonist, Jenny, searching for her best friend Marshal's missing father in the midst of a freak, West Texas winter storm. To survive the frigid night, she'll have to deal with a hated town rival, face a monstrous creature no Moonsong hunter has ever encountered before, and undo a mysterious curse. Can she keep everyone alive? If not, who will pay the ultimate price?

Dark Prelude is approximately 17,000 words or 53 pages, and is the third volume of the Moonsongs Books, an ongoing series of New Adult, paranormal-horror-action novelettes by author E.J. Wesley.

~Moonsongs Series List~

  3. "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives." - sorry, your mention of a lone wolf made me think of that quote from Game of Thrones.

    Shared on Facebook and Twitter.

    Congrats on your release! :D

    1. Oh, I'm the same way, Michael! I'm always worried about driving people nuts when I do these things. But the reality is, if you look at my total tweets, probably less than 5% have anything to do with specific book/author promotion. I think my true friends and followers know that, and will hopefully cut me some slack when special things like this (for me and for others) come up. :)

Thank you for your support, as always.

    1. :D I was totally intimidated by what you all did for your W4WS theme, to be honest. Thought it was so clever and cool! So I had to come up with something, and of course it needed to be silly and overly dramatic. :)
